Tabletop Tuesday : Easter Garden Brunch

I am SO ready to invite some friends over to my garden and celebrate the wonderful weather and drink some rosé. I think we all are, right? I am truly longing for gathering again with friends and family and this time of the year, with the seasons changing, is the perfect time to do this. The 29th of March, right before Easter is perfect timing to be able to have one other household over to your house for a special Easter Garden Brunch! Come on UK Lockdown guidelines, lets go!

This week on our Tabletop Tuesday series I put together a look that is the perfect setting for your Easter Garden Brunch. Light and fresh and splashes of the Easter holiday. Not too cutesy, not too fancy, little splashes of spring flowers and bunnies and what I think is just perfect. I know I am planning up an idea for my garden decor in a couple of weeks. Also, it wouldn’t be Easter without some suggestions of chocolate goodies to add to your baskets.

Happy Easter everyone! We are all in need of a little sunshine right now, enjoy!

If that doesn’t make your stomach rumble, we don’t know what will!”

All this talk about having friends over in my garden for a brunch, cocktails or a dinner party has me really excited for the next few months to reopen in the UK. The above inspiration image I put together makes me smile envisioning friends I haven’t seen in over a year sipping a glass of rosé with me while catching up over new things to come!

Tabletop Tuesday : Mother’s Day Brunch

I miss having friends over to my house and entertaining, anyone else with me? 2020/2021 has been quite a year for all of us and I know that I am so looking forward to inviting friends over to the garden this summer for some wonderful get togethers. During lockdown I have been dressing up my families table a little extra special. From dressing up Valentine’s Brunch with my four year old to dressing up for a sparkly New Years Eve soiree at home, I have managed to sprinkle in my love of designing tablescapes throughout our time at home. This Sunday is UK Mothering Sunday and what better way to treat your mum then to make a beautiful cheery Sunday morning table for her. As a mum of two myself, I know that this year has been especially exhausting and what wouldn’t I love better then walking downstairs on a Sunday morning to this surprise!

Working with the colour scheme of Blush, Coral and White I picked out some pieces that I think would be perfect to keep in rotation on your table throughout the spring and summer season. Mixed with gorgeous vibrant flowers from Bloomologie and hiring in these crisp white bentwood chairs from Wedhead {because it IS a special occasion!} this tablescape looks like the perfect spot to toast with mimosas and croissants in the garden of your home!

The Items I Love To Create This Tablescape:

Want to REALLY make your mum feel special? Not only should you plan a GORGEOUS table design for brunch, but how about a beautiful breakfast in bed tray and leave her along in peace. Yep, that is my dream! A quiet couple of hours indulging in my Stylist magazine and a little guilty pleasure Bridgerton book. Some of these amazing cinnamon rolls from Gail’s all set on a beautiful gold tray with the sun shining in the window. Oh and did I forget, a small vase of bright and happy daffodils. Too much to ask? Nah, it has been a year like no other!

Happy Mother’s Day UK ladies! See you next Tuesday for another fun table design!

Gather : Galentine’s Wine Tasting

Oh what a year it has been! If you would have asked any of us last February if we would have guessed that for the next year coming up we would be homeschooling our children online, rescheduling our weddings once and maybe two to three times, not seeing friends or family for over a year, wearing a mask as part of our daily wardrobe, working out in our living room, well, the list goes on. This past year has been exhausting to say the least. Covid has truly effected my business as a professional in the event and hospitality industry for sure. We spent last spring rescheduling events instead of being onsite styling & coordinating them and this year, we are questioning whether we will have to do it again! While it has been a really tough time, I am trying to take a bit of time now to think of months down the road. This will end and we will go back to celebrating, we will!

Today I wanted to share a little gathering I designed and planned at the lovely 116 Pall Mall for a gathering of amazing ladies in the wedding industry, a Galentine’s Wine Tasting. With Valentine’s Day on the horizon, it felt like the perfect time to share a little gathering of friends and colleagues that were celebrating love and making time for yourself!

“You can’t pour from an empty glass, take care of yourself first!”

After the first year’s Galentine’s brunch being such a hit, we decided we really wanted to plan another get together! Jen, my party partner in crime, and I thought it would be fun to have an evening event that treated us to something. WINE! Yes, an evening gathering of bubbly, wine tasting and delicious food, it was a perfect setting to gather with old friends and meet new ones. As the welcome drink wall stated, You can’t pour from an empty glass, take care of yourself first. True True.

Galentine’s has become a popular gathering over the last few years and I do not see it going anywhere anytime soon. Celebrating the day full of love with girlfriends is the best reason ever! This years was about indulging in things and treating yourself, so why not great our guests was a place card that doubled as your welcome drink!

The tasting was held at 116 Pall Mall in their wine bar that is truly a hidden gem. Located in the lower level of the building, the wine bar is full of history and full of, well, fabulous wine! We added some sparkle to the table linens and topped them with bar snacks such as homemade truffle chips and rosemary madeleines and it set a wonderful atmosphere for galentine’s networking.

I always LOVE the Vanity Fair Oscar Portraits that are taken after the awards show every year. This year I thought it would be super fun to set up a little “studio session”with the lovely Cecelina ! So many people want an updated headshot for their website or social media accounts, so why not make it a little different. In between tasting wines and eating desserts, every one had a chance and I think truly enjoyed it!

I am longing for the day when we can gather and celebrate. When we can greet each other with a big hug and clink glasses when we toast! I am longing to sit next to someone at a dinner party and not have to be two metres apart or wear a mask. All that said, for now, we are being safe and following the rules and remembering the amazing events we did get to plan. It was such a lovely evening! I look forward to sharing another Galentine’s event with you, fingers crossed 2022!

xoxo Rebecca

GATHER : A Pinot & Pie Friendsgiving

Whether it is a 200 person wedding or an evening at home with a few friends, we love to celebrate and gather friends and family together for any occasion. Sometimes the smaller the celebration, the more memorable it may be! As an American living in London for the past seven years I do still miss celebrating Thanksgiving on the last Thursday of every November with my nearest and dearest. While I sometimes get back to the States for the big holiday, I am often here in London celebrating as well. Last year I decided to gather a group of friends for a little different Thanksgiving celebration. I hosted a reason to gather, an evening with friends to drink wine and eat pies, a Friendsgiving Pinot & Pie celebration. To GATHER, to give thanks for everything that we have and everything ahead during the Christmas season, done in style with bubbly and sweets!

How gorgeous are these mini pumpkin pies that the pastry chef at Benugo created for us! The little pie leaves on the top are precious and they were delicious!

To add a little personalisation to the table I had Judy Broad Calligraphy create placemats and wine glasses especially for the occasion.  I think I now want to have custom calligraphy placemats at every get together I host!
GATHER. CELEBRATE. DRINK. EAT. BE MERRY! In this busy season it is often hard to find time to get together, so put something in the diary with your nearest and dearest and enjoy! As a London wedding planner I love the big soirees but I also love the small!

Inspiration to Celebration : A Royal Elopement

I love sharing the inspiration behind an event, a wedding, a party or a photoshoot. I love sharing the ideas that went into creating the finished product so that you can see all of the details that inspire us along the way. From fabrics, flowers, interiors, fashion, celebrities, stories, travel, there are SO many things that I see every day that inspire me to create an event. As an American wedding planner living in London, this shoot in particular was such a fun one to put together!Coming to Wedding Chicks today and with the Royal Wedding tomorrow, this is the perfect time to share.

It was such a wonderful story to colloborate on. I created a group of suppliers that were all very excited about the idea and could see the vision so well, which is what doing a styled shoot is all about. I wanted to create something pretty and fresh, but not to feminine and nothing to trendy. The gorgeous room at 10-11 Carlton Terrace inspired me to use robins egg blue with touches of yellow and black, white and gold. From the flowers to the details of the stationery, the above mood board I created helped guide me through my creative process when I planned.

Ali with Bloomologie UK couldn’t have created something more perfect with the flowers. For all of my events whether a birthday party or a wedding, I like to incorporate meaningful details, as well as making it pretty. I had put together a story behind everything from Meghan’s bouquet to the table arrangement. Meghan is initially from sunny California, where the state flower is a poppy, these were sprinkled throughout many areas. The daffodil is a symbol of Wales and Harry is the Prince of Wales, there are just a few in yellows and whites popping throughout, a bit of a secret. The gorgeous english roses are Englands country flower, the rose, which is ofcourse hugely important to Harry but also the two of them will call home and be such a huge part of their together.  Ali also incorporated fresh blossoms that bloom frequently around Kensington Palace, their new home together and the season of Spring, when they are getting married.

When it came to a meal together, I thought breakfast was the perfect selection. In the UK you often refer to the meal your guests have after the ceremony as the Wedding Breakfast, even if it is served in the afternoon. The meaning of this is that it is the first meal together as husband and wife and most people would fast before their wedding ceremony that would take place at church, so the first meal together would be breaking the fast. The idea that Harry & Meghan could enjoy a beautiful morning together eating a mix of American pancakes and local Windsor eggs and breads was a dreamy idea to me. All of this happening before the city was really awake. We didn’t leave out a cake or Champagne and made sure that we marked the special occasion with a petite wedding cake that Claire Owens Cakes beautifully designed with flowers that reflected all of the touches in the bouquets I mentioned above.

There were so many lovely touches that came together and Cecelina Photography captured it all beautifully! I will share all of the details with you in a few weeks. It was a gorgeous idea to create. Now, I don’t know about you, but I am so excited to see what they truly do for their big day, this was a lovely idea but I think they may have a little bigger celebration in the works.

xo Rebecca
