Gather: Disco Ball Chic

Nothing says “party” like the iconic sparkle of a disco ball, and we adore incorporating them into our events! Whether it’s creating a shimmering focal point for late-night dancing at a wedding or weaving them into floral arrangements for an evening with flair, disco balls add that perfect touch of glam. We recently designed a monochromatic disco-inspired decor for a London dinner at the elegant Six Park Place, transforming the simple, classic room into a vibrant, magical space. The show-stopping disco ball chandelier brought a mesmerizing glow, elevating the evening’s atmosphere and adding an unforgettable sparkle to the event.

Gather : A Stunning Dinner for Google at {10-11} Carlton House Terrace

We were absolutely thrilled to plan an unforgettable dinner for Google, centered around the inspiring theme of Innovation. This exclusive event took place at the stunning London venue, 10-11 Carlton House Terrace, a magnificent Grade I listed Georgian townhouse that provided the perfect backdrop for an evening of creativity and collaboration.

To enhance the atmosphere, we incorporated simplistic yet elegant furniture that harmonized beautifully with the venue’s historic charm. Glowing lights illuminated the space, creating a warm and inviting ambiance that encouraged conversation and connection. To further complement the theme of innovation, we introduced lush green elements, including vibrant plants and floral arrangements, transforming the venue into a fresh, modern, and intimate setting.

Two Temple Place Wedding : H&E November Candlelit Celebration

Two Temple Place Wedding - Rebecca K Events

When I heard from Hanna and Edwin, the description they had for their wedding day was they wanted it to be elegant and traditional but not stuffy; simple; timeless. Working with them over the year, I think we created these exact details for them!

From our very first call, they shared a vision of a wedding day centered on family, friends, and intimate details, with a warm candle-lit atmosphere setting the perfect mood. We collaborated for months, meeting over glasses of wine to personalize each element of their day. Together, we designed custom cocktail napkins, incorporated Thanksgiving-inspired mini pies, and blended cultural touches reflecting Hanna’s American heritage and Edwin’s British roots, along with influences from their travels.

Two Temple Place Wedding - Rebecca K Events

Every detail made their wedding uniquely meaningful, and Two Temple Place’s elegant, historic charm only added to the magic. Being a part of such a heartfelt London wedding was truly special.

GATHER : A Green Chic Christmas Party

We haven’t posted much recently on our little journal area on the site, so with Christmas coming up, we thought we would pop on over and share a beauty we created! We absolutely LOVED this Christmas dinner we planned at {10-11} Carlton House Terrace {we are a recommended supplier at this lovely venue!} From the moment guests walked into the room, they were surrounded by a glamorous wintery setting. Birch wood branches, evergreen trees, delicious winter cocktails, furry throws on the lounge seating, the evening was a blast!

Venue Visits : the DESIGN MUSEUM

Can we just say how EXCITED we are to have London slowly reopening! YAY! What a year it has been for all of us. The events industry was hit hard by the effects of Covid-19 and all of us are beyond excited to get back to planning your event and celebrating after over a year of closing our doors multiple times. I thought now would be a perfect time to restart with sharing venues in the city that we love. So many couples are looking for London venues for their micro weddings or future larger weddings and we are excited to share this venue with you today, the Design Museum!

{exterior view of the Design Museum London }

The Design Museum is a special place to us as the team there is amazing and we have produced some amazing events there. It was exciting to hear that the museum now has their license to be able to host civil ceremonies onsite, which means you can now host your wedding ceremony and your reception at this very fabulous London Museum. If you are not familiar with this gorgeous space then do check out their site here for more information.

The Design Museum is located on the corner of Holland Park, right off of High Street Kensington and a short walk from the underground station of High Street Kensington or Earls Court station. The museum offers four contemporary spaces you can use for your ceremony and four for your reception and wedding breakfast. The spaces are iconic and modern and I like to use the words, fresh & crisp. The spaces provide a beautiful, almost blank space, to add your individual create touch to the venue.

Event Space : The Atrium

I love this space because of the dramatic ceilings that are triple height of the venue. The Atrium is large and can seat 150 guests for a seated evening meal or get creative and seat guests around on the balcony and dance the night away on the ground floor.

Event Space : The Helene & Johannes Huth Gallery

This space has floor to ceiling windows that overlook Holland Park. The Helene & Johannes Huth Gallery is so lovely for a larger ceremony space before heading into the Atrium or as a setting for your wedding breakfast before heading into the Atrium for your evening reception! Truly a space you can make your own!

Event Spaces : The Chumsri & Luqman Lounge and The Sachs Family Park Room

Both of these spaces are intimate but are amazing for a smaller more intimate micro celebration. A perfect pairing to host your ceremony in one and a smaller reception in the other. Both with floor to ceiling windows on one side leading out to the park, they are a hidden gem within the museum.

Reasons We Love It Here:

The museum is modern and contemporary and one of the most sought-after venues in London! The venue hosts hundreds of corporate and private events yearly so I am so excited to see that it can now host weddings there also.

There are multiple event space options to fit to your particular needs. The venue is not a cookie cutter space at all.

We love the location of the venue. Right off of High Street Kensington providing guests easy accessibility to the venue but also on the corner of Holland Park providing a stunning backdrop. The park is also a lovely location to escape for some wedding photos.

The list of approved suppliers is truly top notch. Check it out here.

The Design Museum is a modern and grand place to host your party! We love it and would love to work with you there! Let us know if you want to sit down and talk about plans, we would love to meet you. Contact here!

Tabletop Tuesday : Easter Garden Brunch

I am SO ready to invite some friends over to my garden and celebrate the wonderful weather and drink some rosé. I think we all are, right? I am truly longing for gathering again with friends and family and this time of the year, with the seasons changing, is the perfect time to do this. The 29th of March, right before Easter is perfect timing to be able to have one other household over to your house for a special Easter Garden Brunch! Come on UK Lockdown guidelines, lets go!

This week on our Tabletop Tuesday series I put together a look that is the perfect setting for your Easter Garden Brunch. Light and fresh and splashes of the Easter holiday. Not too cutesy, not too fancy, little splashes of spring flowers and bunnies and what I think is just perfect. I know I am planning up an idea for my garden decor in a couple of weeks. Also, it wouldn’t be Easter without some suggestions of chocolate goodies to add to your baskets.

Happy Easter everyone! We are all in need of a little sunshine right now, enjoy!

If you are interested in ordering an Easter dinner for your home, check out the amazing offering that Hideaway has that ends with this amazing dessert: “Easter Egg Nest, feasting on a Kataifi pastry ‘nest’ on top of a shortbread biscuit topped with milk chocolate ganache, orange zest and praline ‘quail’ eggs. If that doesn’t make your stomach rumble, we don’t know what will!”

All this talk about having friends over in my garden for a brunch, cocktails or a dinner party has me really excited for the next few months to reopen in the UK. The above inspiration image I put together makes me smile envisioning friends I haven’t seen in over a year sipping a glass of rosé with me while catching up over new things to come!

The Wedding Collection : Pale Press London

A few weeks ago the UK government issued a roadmap to lifting the lockdown. Included in this plan are dates that weddings can again start to be planned and celebrated. With such an intense and memorable year behind us, so many of us are looking ahead and hoping that we can gather agin soon! The group of us in the Wedding Collection know that is a crazy time to be planning your big day, but if you do decide to celebrate smaller this summer, we would love to help. Currently  the first date for weddings to be permitted is the 12th of April for 15 guests, 17th of May for 30 guests and as of the 21st of June no restrictions. All of these dates are subject to review by the government, but for now, we are starting to plan! I thought no better time then now to introduce you to another talented amazing lady that is a part of  Wedding Collection : London Micro Wedding Planning Ashley from Pale Press London

I created the Wedding Collection : London Micro Wedding Planning with a group of talented London wedding suppliers to make your micro wedding easier, not stressful, beautiful and fun! Todays post is all about Ashley’s gorgeous stationery design studio Pale Press London.

Tell me a little bit about yourself  and your business?
Pale Press London is a stationery design studio – born out of a love of hand lettering and a curiosity of old age printing methods.

How long have you been professionally doing stationery and calligraphy?
Officially since 2016. Although, I feel as though I’ve been captivated by handwriting since I was a child.

How would people describe your signature style?
I try to incorporate elements of hand lettering with clean typography and quality design. I typically work with quite muted colours and I love to use handmade cotton paper when I can.

What is your favorite part of the wedding day?
The two parts that usually stand out for me are the vows and the party. Watching two people say their vows is such a special moment to witness. I could go to a wedding every weekend and never get bored. The party is always guaranteed to be great and everyone is there with a common goal – to celebrate and have fun!

Any advice to couples planning a wedding during these crazy times?
I really believe that wedding planners are such an invaluable part of your day. No more so than during Covid. Having someone to help manage some of the stress/replanning during this difficult time is such an important resource.

{calligraphy on plates by Pale Press London. Photo by Cecelina Photography, Planning & Styling Rebecca K. Events}

What is the most recent wedding trend you are loving/loathing?
I’m not sure there have been any trends this year? The most prominent ‘theme’ though would be micro weddings. Seeing couples create a different but equally as beautiful wedding day has been so heartwarming. I think elopements and smaller celebrations can be so romantic and intimate.

What have you been doing to keep yourself busy and your creative mind going during lockdown?
Fortunately, lockdown allowed me the time to sit down and design my semi-custom collections as well as rebuild my website. As with most people, there is always a long to do list and some things sit at the bottom. 2020 meant I could focus on the things that had slipped through the net and hopefully position me in a stronger place for when weddings and events return!

Tabletop Tuesday : Mother’s Day Brunch

I miss having friends over to my house and entertaining, anyone else with me? 2020/2021 has been quite a year for all of us and I know that I am so looking forward to inviting friends over to the garden this summer for some wonderful get togethers. During lockdown I have been dressing up my families table a little extra special. From dressing up Valentine’s Brunch with my four year old to dressing up for a sparkly New Years Eve soiree at home, I have managed to sprinkle in my love of designing tablescapes throughout our time at home. This Sunday is UK Mothering Sunday and what better way to treat your mum then to make a beautiful cheery Sunday morning table for her. As a mum of two myself, I know that this year has been especially exhausting and what wouldn’t I love better then walking downstairs on a Sunday morning to this surprise!

Working with the colour scheme of Blush, Coral and White I picked out some pieces that I think would be perfect to keep in rotation on your table throughout the spring and summer season. Mixed with gorgeous vibrant flowers from Bloomologie and hiring in these crisp white bentwood chairs from Wedhead {because it IS a special occasion!} this tablescape looks like the perfect spot to toast with mimosas and croissants in the garden of your home!

The Items I Love To Create This Tablescape:

Wedhead White Chairs

Liberty Fabric Napkins

Linen Tablecloth

Lattice White Plate

Pink Water Glass

Pink Wine Glass

Cutlery

Water Jug

Candles

Want to REALLY make your mum feel special? Not only should you plan a GORGEOUS table design for brunch, but how about a beautiful breakfast in bed tray and leave her along in peace. Yep, that is my dream! A quiet couple of hours indulging in my Stylist magazine and a little guilty pleasure Bridgerton book. Some of these amazing cinnamon rolls from Gail’s all set on a beautiful gold tray with the sun shining in the window. Oh and did I forget, a small vase of bright and happy daffodils. Too much to ask? Nah, it has been a year like no other!

The Items I Love To Create This Breakfast In Bed Tablescape:

Bud Vases

Mum Mug

Gold Breakfast Tray

Stylist Magazine

Gails Bakery

Happy Mother’s Day UK ladies! See you next Tuesday for another fun table design!

Gather : Galentine’s Wine Tasting

Oh what a year it has been! If you would have asked any of us last February if we would have guessed that for the next year coming up we would be homeschooling our children online, rescheduling our weddings once and maybe two to three times, not seeing friends or family for over a year, wearing a mask as part of our daily wardrobe, working out in our living room, well, the list goes on. This past year has been exhausting to say the least. Covid has truly effected my business as a professional in the event and hospitality industry for sure. We spent last spring rescheduling events instead of being onsite styling & coordinating them and this year, we are questioning whether we will have to do it again! While it has been a really tough time, I am trying to take a bit of time now to think of months down the road. This will end and we will go back to celebrating, we will!

Today I wanted to share a little gathering I designed and planned at the lovely 116 Pall Mall for a gathering of amazing ladies in the wedding industry, a Galentine’s Wine Tasting. With Valentine’s Day on the horizon, it felt like the perfect time to share a little gathering of friends and colleagues that were celebrating love and making time for yourself!

“You can’t pour from an empty glass, take care of yourself first!”

After the first year’s Galentine’s brunch being such a hit, we decided we really wanted to plan another get together! Jen, my party partner in crime, and I thought it would be fun to have an evening event that treated us to something. WINE! Yes, an evening gathering of bubbly, wine tasting and delicious food, it was a perfect setting to gather with old friends and meet new ones. As the welcome drink wall stated, You can’t pour from an empty glass, take care of yourself first. True True.

Galentine’s has become a popular gathering over the last few years and I do not see it going anywhere anytime soon. Celebrating the day full of love with girlfriends is the best reason ever! This years was about indulging in things and treating yourself, so why not great our guests was a place card that doubled as your welcome drink!

The tasting was held at 116 Pall Mall in their wine bar that is truly a hidden gem. Located in the lower level of the building, the wine bar is full of history and full of, well, fabulous wine! We added some sparkle to the table linens and topped them with bar snacks such as homemade truffle chips and rosemary madeleines and it set a wonderful atmosphere for galentine’s networking.

I always LOVE the Vanity Fair Oscar Portraits that are taken after the awards show every year. This year I thought it would be super fun to set up a little “studio session”with the lovely Cecelina ! So many people want an updated headshot for their website or social media accounts, so why not make it a little different. In between tasting wines and eating desserts, every one had a chance and I think truly enjoyed it!

I am longing for the day when we can gather and celebrate. When we can greet each other with a big hug and clink glasses when we toast! I am longing to sit next to someone at a dinner party and not have to be two metres apart or wear a mask. All that said, for now, we are being safe and following the rules and remembering the amazing events we did get to plan. It was such a lovely evening! I look forward to sharing another Galentine’s event with you, fingers crossed 2022!

xoxo Rebecca

The Wedding Collection : Sanni Sorma, Makeup & Hair

The rules and feelings regarding planning your wedding in the UK right now are confusing, I know. Confusing, but also a bit stressful. Weddings are a time of celebration and love and should be a time full of happiness! It is not a time that you want to feel stressed and anxious. Last nights update on moving London into Tier 3 has us all a bit sad for sure. I myself am going to take the next few weeks of time to enjoy the festive season as much as I can but also to look ahead of this time. I am going to look int early 2021 and with hope that we can plan micro celebrations for you!

Tell me a little bit about yourself and your business?
I love working as a makeup artist & hair stylist. I work mostly with destination weddings and elopments but I also work on advertising shoots, TV and editorial photoshoots. I am based out of London and during the wedding season also Paris. I work all around the UK, France, Italy and Europe wide.

Through my job I meet the most incredible people and visit gorgeous locations. I love connecting with new people I consider it an honour to be a small part of my clients wedding day.

I would describe my style of makeup as chic, modern and always – always – what suits my clients the best. We work together to find the perfect look for your shoot, wedding or event.

{Photo by Cecelina Photography}

How long have you been professionally doing wedding hair & makeup?
9 years now, can’t quite believe it!

How would people describe your signature style?
Luminous, glowing skin. I love daytime smokey eyes with lots of individual lashes and gorgeous full brows.

{photo by Linas Dambrauskas}

What is your favorite part of the wedding day?
When the brides dad walks into the room and sees his daughter for the first time. I get all misty eyed.

Julie Michaelsen Photography - Rebecca K Events

Any advice to couples planning a wedding during these crazy times?
Be prepared to change everything and go with the flow. Concentrate on what’s important, marrying the person you love. Circumstances, venues, amount of guests…all this can change but it doesn’t mean that your wedding will be any less special – probably even more so considering this time will go down in history!

What is the most recent beauty trend you are loving?

I do love the trend of natural, full brows, brushed all the way up. It lifts the face, looks modern and less ‘done’ than perfectly manicured brows.

What have you been doing to keep yourself busy and your creative mind going during lockdown?

I’ve picked up design work again – I used to work as an Art Director. Design work I can do during lockdown and at home and it gives me a great creative outlet. As well as an income of course!
